Taylor Swift Confirms New Album Track List, Lana Del Rey Cameo

In addition to featuring a cameo from Lana Del Rey on the song "Snow on the Beach," Taylor Swift has released the whole track listing for her upcoming album, Midnights. Swift had been releasing song titles through her "Midnights Mayhem With Me" TikTok series one at a time over the previous four days, but starting late last night, she started revealing one each hour until she finished the track list at 4 a.m. ET.

The remaining four songs are "Lavender Haze," "You're on Your Own," "Labyrinth," and "Sweet Nothing." The album's opening tune is "Lavender Haze" (track 12). Oct. 21 marks the publication of Midnights.

Swift elaborated on "Lavender Haze" in a different Instagram video, a term she claims she "happened onto" while watching the television show Mad Men. And I looked it up because I thought it sounded cool, and it turns out that it was a frequent expression used in the 1950s to simply describe being in love, she said. "Like, if you were in the lavender haze, then that indicated that you were in the enveloping love glow — and I thought that was really beautiful. Theoretically, when you're in the lavender haze, you'll do whatever it takes to stay there and avoid letting anyone drag you out of that cloud.

And because we live in the social media age and if the world finds out that you're in love with someone, they're going to weigh in on it, I believe a lot of people now have to deal with this, not just, like, "public figures." Like my six-year relationship, we've had to avoid strange rumors and tabloid coverage, but we just ignore it. This song is about disregarding that crap in order to save the true stuff. I hope you all enjoy it.

According to Swift's prior statement, Midnights is made up of "the tales of 13 restless nights spread throughout my life. A voyage through nightmares and pleasant dreams, this compilation of music was composed in the dead of night. The demons we must face and the floors we pace. For all of us who have been tossing and turning, choosing to keep the lanterns light and continue seeking in the hopes that, just maybe, at twelve, we may find ourselves.
