"I admire him as a comedian, but I think that when the first Deadpool made him famous, things started to shift. Perhaps he said, "See? All of you see?"
Controversial actor and comedian T.J. Miller claims he would decline to work with Ryan Reynolds again or return for Deadpool 3 even if he were asked after the two had a "weird time" together on set.
Miller claims that Reynolds used to hate him and recalled an incident in which Reynolds allegedly asked for a second take so that he could insult Miller in front of the cast and crew. Miller, who played the frank bartender Weasel in the first two films of the franchise and has been involved in a number of scandals over the years, claims that Reynolds used to hate him.
"In the part he was playing, he treated me really cruelly. still to me. I behave like a wuss," Miller's justification was presented on the Adam Carolla Show. "Weasel, do you know what your best quality is? Even though you're not the main character, you provide just the right amount of entertaining exposition to allow us to continue the main movie."
Miller claimed that the jab stunned him. I just kind of listened and thought it was strange, and then I stepped off stage because they were like, "Cut...?" he remembered. He also mentioned how uncomfortable the cast was after the scene.
Miller continued, saying that the interaction went beyond a simple on-screen dynamic. "Exactly because of that is why he said that," he deadpanned. "Since I'm not even somewhat funnier than him, you know. I don't have any more cinematic roles than he has, either."
Miller claimed that the precise time conveyed all there was to know about Reynolds. "Have we previously collaborated? No. He continued, "But I kind of wish him luck since he's so brilliant at Deadpool, and I think it's funny that he hates me," I wouldn't work with him again.
The actor-comedian has sought out controversy throughout his career. A lady accused him of sexual assault in 2017, which he vehemently denied. He was charged with threatening an additional actor while filming his HBO series Silicon Valley a year later. Despite his denial of the accusations, the show was canceled. Miller was additionally jailed in 2018, however federal charges were later dropped as a result of Miller's earlier brain surgery, which was used as a defense. Miller was accused of making a fake bomb threat while traveling an Amtrak train, leading to his arrest.
Miller claimed throughout the Carolla Show interview that he truly likes Reynolds' portrayal of the Merc with a Mouth, despite the fact that he believes Reynolds is a "insecure individual" in real life. Even though his face was covered, he was said to be incredibly quick and funny. "I admire him as a comedian, but I think things started to shift after he gained enormous notoriety as a result of the first Deadpool. Perhaps he said, "See? All of you see?"
Despite his comments, Miller recognized that his feelings about working with Reynolds might change. I've worked with Michael Bay previously, and now that we're friends, I'd do it again," he remarked before revealing that Bay had a "very specific impression" of him "after their collaboration on the 2019 film 6 Underground, Reynolds.
Weasel won't appear in any upcoming Deadpool movies, though. I don't really think you should do something for more than five years, he remarked. It seems unusual to me to just play Weasel again after eleven years.
But he added, "I don't mean any harm to them. I think [Reynolds] need to do more motion pictures, including a third Deadpool. I just think he doesn't like me, and I thought his way of saying it was strange."
